Kendra Adams is 17 years old and in some ways she’s a typical teenager. She plays hockey and golf, she just finished her senior year in high school, and she enjoys spending time with family. But there’s more to Kendra than meets the eye: she loves to drive fast– really fast. I’m talking up to 80 miles an hour.

You guessed it: Kendra Adams is a racecar driver, and a super cool one at that. She started racing at age 13, following in the footsteps of her racecar driver father. Now, she’s a seasoned driver with scores of awards, but she says she still gets nervous every time she hits the track. It’s not the kind of thing you get used to!

She drives a car called Super Stock with an 8-cylinder engine that she works on herself. A true racing family, the Adamses work on cars together and sometimes even compete together: Kendra raced her dad once, and both of them ended up wrecking before the race was over!

Are you inspired by Kendra’s story? You can be any age to start racing! The entire Wonderama studio audience could start today if they wanted to.

We’re super impressed by this fast driving, trash talking (just wait until she and David go at it in the video below!) young woman and we’re cheering her on as she heads to college to study Marketing. Check out her interview with David and see what happens when a talk show host challenges a racecar driver to a race. Let’s just say you can expect a lot of twists and turns…
